645 KandidatInnen kamen an die Uni Graz

Start zur Woche der Zulassungsprüfungen an der Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz: Den Anfang machte heute Dienstag, 30. August 2016, der Aufnahmetest für das Bachelorstudium Psychologie. Von den ursprünglich 905 angemeldeten BewerberInnen nahmen 645 Personen (477 Frauen und 168 Männer) teil. 135 KandidatInnen stammen aus Deutschland (21 Prozent).
Im Vorjahr hatten sich insgesamt 605 BewerberInnen (1481 Angemeldete) dem Multiple-Choice-Test gestellt.

Die 230 besten BewerberInnen werden zum Bachelorstudium Psychologie im Studienjahr 2016/2017 zugelassen. Die Ergebnisse liegen ab 15. September 2016 online vor: https://studienzugang.uni-graz.at

Bei allen Aufnahmetests wird heuer ein eigens von der Uni Graz kreiertes Check-in-System eingesetzt. Andrea Penz, Koordinatorin für den Studienzugang an der Uni Graz: „Damit registrieren sich die KandidatInnen schnell und einfach. Im Mittelpunkt der von IT-Experten Gernot Leitgab entwickelten Methode stehen QR-Codes, die nicht nur Zeit, sondern auch Papier sparen.“

Autonomous robots and AI algorithms provide important data and high-resolution real-time images from inside a beehive. "As part of an international team, we have developed a game-changer technology for a new type of digitalised behavioural research," reports biologist Thomas Schmickl from the Artifical Life Lab at the University of Graz. The publication, which has just appeared as the cover story in the journal "Science Robotics", describes the wealth of information that can be obtained from this unique research facility.

Research for healthy aging: FWF funds Cluster of Excellence "MetAGE" with 18 million euros

Six researchers from the Field of Excellence "BioHealth" at the University of Graz, together with colleagues from the Medical Universities of Graz and Vienna, have acquired an FWF-funded "Cluster of Excellence". Now a newly formed center of excellence will be created under the leadership of the University of Graz. The aim is to gain a better understanding of healthy aging. The findings will flow directly into clinical research.
